Abiona Esther Ojo (1992, Hellmonsödt, Austria), finished her studies in Sculpture and Spatial Strategies at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna in 2020.
While her practice manifests itself through and in different media like photography and textile art, Esther’s inspiration is often autobiographical: by looking at her own embodied story, she connects her personal experience with wider, socially relevant themes. Esther won the Kunsthalle Wien Preis with her Diploma work titled "There is magic in every strand", which is a series of soft sculptures that invite people to reimagine ideas about
interconnectedness, intimacy and the individual.
